About Me

Flavia Felletti (on instagram, @flazoukie)

My first dance class was a ballet class, as I was 6 years old. I have danced ballet, modern dance, and hip-hop, but it was only during my university studies that I discovered partner-dances. Partner dances completely hooked me, and after dancing Salsa and Bachata for some years I completely fell in love with Brazilian Zouk. I did not stop learning other dances, though, as some years later I decided to also try West Coast Swing, Forró, Kizomba, and I am currently diving into Argentinian Tango.

I discovered Brazilian Zouk in 2019 at a Salsa, Bachata & Kizomba festival, and I found myself fully fascinated this dance. Soon after, I started to attend classes and workshops, and to travel to festivals all around Europe to learn as much as I could and to experience dancing with different people in different countries.

Of Zouk I love the flowy movements, the focus on connection with the partner, and the variety of music to which it is possible to dance zouk – including lyrical songs, R&B, lambada music, and more – which brings about different sides of my personality and different types of connection with my dance partner.

I am a person who loves learning and sharing knowledge. I still travel to improve my skills and my understanding of Brazilian Zouk. But I also love to share the knowledge I gained over the years to help others to discover this beautiful dance and to improve their skills and dance experience.

In 2022 I started a zouk community in Lüneburg, where I lived and worked for about three years. There I taught regular Brazilian Zouk classes and workshops. I am proud to say that some of my first students there are nowadays good dancers, still passionate about zouk, joining my classes and events in Hamburg and traveling to international events.

In 2024 I moved to Hamburg and I started my regular classes here, and I got more and more involved into the local community, and I started to organize my own workshops and bigger event with guest teachers from other cities in Germany and abroad.

I have been teaching locally and abroad with João Jezuz (Rio), Antonio (Italy/NY), Georg (Hamburg), and Hoang (Hamburg). Furthermore, I organized weekenders with Simone & Martin (Bonn), Kris & Klaudia (Warsaw/Crakow), Olga & Fernando (Bremen), and more are planned.

Locally, I have three projects that I take very much at heart:

The Tango Into Zouk project started as a collaboration with the professional tango dancer and teacher Francesc Marsal. Together we work on finding new ways to bring together the tango technique and zouk flow. Our favorite topic to teach is counterbalance, we never get tired of flying together and teaching others how to experience this magic feeling!

The Solo Technique Series, a series of classes where we focus on movement training and learn to master specific zouk moves. My current series is on Traveling Head-Movements and dives.

The Zouk-Skillsharing was my first project in Hamburg, and it is also the project taht gave the name to my brand and to this website. It is a no-profit oriented project based on the mutual sharing of the knowledge that other experienced dancers and I acquired over the years. We organize workshops on specific zouk-related topics and a social and practice time afterward. Everyone can volunteer to give a workshop or to contribute to the music for the social.

I teach regular Zouk classes in Hamburg with Hoang, on Thursdays (20:00-22:00h in Wandsbeker Chaussee 62a) and I am also available for private classes.

Feel free to contact me if you are interested in learning Brazilian Zouk or if you would like to know more!
